Education

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.

-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

For 28 years, education has been foundational to the NWA MLK Council. We have awarded over $700,000 in scholarships to students furthering their education via our Scholarship Endowment. We also partner with local organizations for college tours. We also have a dedicated Resources page with a host of free educational resources that is updated often.

Advocacy

Being people advocates is critical to the building of The BeLOVEd Community. We work to build alliances and address systemic injustices while giving voice to those doing incredible grass roots work. Our BeLOVEd Community Podcast, Community Conversations, and various Outreach Pograms provide opportunites for us to engage and be a hub of information and centering for those that might not be heard.

RESEARCH

We utilize research to bolster our stances for better outcomes for the underrepresented, marginalized and disenfranchised populations of Northwest Arkansas. From the State of Black NWA census to other research materials we work to keep our communities informed and stakeholders aware.
